Markku Klami: Towards the Violin Concerto: A Requiem
In Sibelius Academy's Music of Our Time lecture Series, visiting composers and other artists present their work, recent projects, and the artistic questions related to them.
Composer Markku Klami tells about his recent years’ works that have acted as a road towards his most own musical expression and more liberated composing. One of the pivotal works is his Violin Concerto: A Requiem that will have its first performance at Tampere Biennale festival in April 2026. The work will be performed by Maria Puusaari and Tampere Filharmonia, conducted by Ruut Kiiski.
